Leeway

Not many pictures today.

Leeway has been one of my top band since I heard their tunes 10 years ago or so.

I love music so much, and I have already seen live probably more than 75% of bands which I listen daily (and trust me, i do listen a lot). Regarding Leeway, unfortunately, they were active till 1996 so I was 11 then.

In 2006 I was hitch-hiking to Scotland. One day on my trip, someone dropped me off next to the Heathrow Airport in London. I just jumped down from the truck’s stairs and heard a familiar voice “Hey Bart!”. It was Paweł aka Kargul who somehow worked those days next to the place where the truck stopped. Paweł asked me what I was doing there and I just said that I’m going to Scotland and I’m in the middle of the way. He said that Leeway is playing in London that night.

You can imagine the rest of the story. I went to Camden, spent almost all my money for a trip to buy a ticket and some food (it wasn’t that expensive, I was just out of any money). The show was a-m-a-z-i-n-g.

Leeway

Check the video below. I believe it was recorded in 1995 as they released this album that year.

Good vibe. Good tunes.

PS. On the picture below is Mike Gibbon the Leeway’s guitarist. 4 years after the picture was taken they recorded they first album.

In June I flew to London to see the Bitter End and Dirty Money show as BE didn’t play in Portugal on that tour. You can check out my photos from the show at allxages.com by the way.

So, I stayed at Fibb’s flat for few days and we were basically hangin’ out. She is a cupcakes master and obviously I had to participate in the cupcakes ceremony.

One of her recipe below:

1 Tbsp vanilla sugar

then add the dry ingredients and mix well
add
1 cup of finally grated carrots
1/3 cup walnuts
1/2 cup raisins
mix and fill the cupcake liners full

Back to work, back to work!

Saturday, October 23rd, 2010

I spent last 8 days in London, mostly on dozens of exhibitions, eating food and nothing but hangin’ out with friends. Good times. Heart attacks when I saw some amazing photographies on the galleries walls and so on. You know how it is when you are in London, aight?

And now for something completely different… I’m back to my daily duties and unfinished pictures. My head is full of them and I can’t wait to share with you. Stay tuned!

Back to work, back to work!
The kid with the gun over his head is one of those photographs which is squeezing my nuts. Elliott Erwitt is the man who took the picture on the wall.
